Finally got around to making lentil soup with my "not new" ham bone.

If you've got family nearby that aren't so domestic as to be making soup, you can usually get a fee ham bone from them. They'd just throw it out. This one's from my sister's Easter dinner. Luckily, they freeze or even store in the fridge very well. I love soups as they can be all five daily servings of veggies in one big bowl. (Especially if you tend to make them more like stew, as I always seem to end up doing.
